My hair is flat what can I do to give it volume?

This is a problem I have, when my hair gets long it gets flat and I sometimes feel like a drown rat, not a sexy look I promise you that!

People with fine to thin hair generally have this problem, things I recommend people do to solve this problem are,

> Shampoo and condition your hair with a professional product (salon product, the reason why i say salon product is because it is more concentrated which means that it should last you up to 3-5months no matter how long your hair is, you should be shampooing your hair twice, 1st shampoo does not always foam so don’t add more shampoo as it is cleaning your hair removing all the dirt off your scalp and hair,2nd shampoo cleanses your hair, and one conditioner applied on towel dried hair from mid-lengths to ends, if applied on soaking wet hair the conditioner will dilute and it wont work, conditioner is used to seal all the volumising agents into your hair, not to flatten or make your hair heavy)as I was saying use a professional product, for med-fine hair you would be using a volumising shampoo i.e. Body full shampoo and conditioner produced by Redken

> When drying your hair, depending on how flat your hair gets or is, you can put a root lifter on the roots of your hair, and if you are a wash and go kind of girl put your head upside-down, quickly finger dry your hair and off you go. For ladies who style their hair apply a root lifter, blow dry hair with Velcro-rollers allow to cool, remove style and off you go.

> If you have medium to dark hair, add a few highlights, it gives the illusion of thicker hair.

> When cutting your hair, make sure your stylist does not texturise it too much, this will make your ends look "ratty", keep the cut blunt (straight). cutting some layers into your hair is fine it will give your hair volume and your face a better shape, again don’t over do it we are trying to prevent the "ratty" look. Keep your hair at a collarbone length or shorter.

Ladies and Gents, If you have any more questions about your hair give me a shout! Happy hair day.

Much love,
